Frequently Asked Questions

You are free to enter as many pets as you would like. We just ask that your photo contain the same category of pets: dog, cat, critter.

Yes, you are welcome to enter a photo that shows a person with your pet. Pictures that include children are also acceptable. Please be aware, however, that the image will be viewable on a publicly accessible website as part of this photo contest. 

All pet’s go to heaven! Entering a deceased pet is absolutely fine, and in fact we encourage you to enter him or her into the contest. It would be a wonderful tribute.

You do not have to be the guardian of the pet to submit the image however, you must be the owner of the submitted image and be authorized by the pet owner to do so.

We’re very sorry, but the only way to enter the photo contest is through our website form. Click here to enter.

Our contest is running from September 4, 2021 through October 3, 2021. Enter by October 3rd by 11:59.59 pm EST to be eligible.  

Voting ends on October 3, 2021. All entries, votes and donations must be submitted and confirmed by 11:59.59 pm EST.

Winners will be notified publicly on October 4th via email and social media.

The St. Francis Pet Photo Contest has three categories: Dog, Cat and Critter.

A total of nine winners will be chosen. Three animals, one from each category (dog, cat critter), will be awarded first, second and third place.

Winner’s will be chosen based on how many votes they receive. 

Three 1st place winners (one animal from each category) will receive a $100 Chewy Gift Card and gift from The Franciscan Store.

Three 2nd place winners (one animal from each category) will receive a $50 Chewy Gift Card and gift from The Franciscan Store.

Three 3rd place winners (one animal from each category) will receive a $25 Chewy Gift Card and gift from The Franciscan Store.  on

The St. Francis Pet Photo Contest is open and offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and legal residents of the United Kingdom who have reached the age of majority in the state of his/her residence as of start date of Promotion.

To see if your entry uploaded to the contest website, visit the vote gallery and search by pet name or owner name. You should also receive an email confirming your entry.

Both contest participants and voters can opt-in, separately, to receive notifications and special content via email from The Franciscan Friars. If they choose to do so, they will be able to quickly and easily “opt out” of future such communications by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send. The Franciscan Friars will also send a separate acknowledgment to any voters, thanking them for their contributions. The Franciscan Friars do not sell, rent, trade, or share its email addresses with any third parties.

Yes, your headline copy or pet description can be edited by logging into your pet profile page. 

Yes, your pet’s photo can be edited by logging into your pet profile page.

From the home page of the contest site, click the view the “VOTE” button. You may then search the gallery by pet name or owner name.

Visit the Vote Page, search for your pet or a friend’s and click vote. Forward your pet’s photo page to your friends and family, and then ask them to donate to vote for your pet! Every vote for your pet is another dollar that will support the work of the Franciscan Friars. Each vote is $1.00. 100% of your donation goes to ministries providing services to the poor, assisting in the education of young Friars, and care for our elderly Friars.

No, you do not have to pay to enter the contest.

Yes, to vote for your favorite pets, you will need to donate to the The Franciscan Friar Pet Photo Contest Campaign. Each vote costs $1.00. 100% of your donation goes to ministries providing services to the poor, assisting in the education of young Friars, and care for our elderly Friars.

Yes, contributions from U.S. residents are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. 

You can donate to vote for as many pets as you’d like – and for as many times as you’d like!
